THE
WRITERS’ ROOM EXPERIENCe
Bring the creative power of a TV writers' room to your team!
What is the writers’ room experience?
In this highly interactive keynote and workshop, your team won't just hear how great ideas happen — they'll experience the creative process firsthand.
Drawing from more than 20 years as a 13-time Emmy-winning comedy writer, Gil reveals the same techniques television writers use to:
generate breakthrough ideas under pressure
build on one another's thinking
transform rough concepts into winning ideas
Whether your team is developing products, solving complex challenges, or shaping what comes next, the creative process is the same — and these tools work wherever better ideas are needed.
Best of all, you'll leave with Gil's signature Write Drunk / Edit Sober / Act Caffeinated framework — a simple, repeatable process Gil tailors to your team’s goals, so you can immediately apply it to innovate under pressure, collaborate more effectively, and turn great ideas into action.
About Gil
Gil Rief is a 13-time Emmy-winning comedy writer and producer who served as Head Writer for The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Jennifer Hudson Show. Over more than 20 years in television, he’s helped create thousands of monologues, games, comedy segments and original ideas — often under intense deadlines where “I’ve got nothing” simply wasn’t an option.
Today, Gil brings that writers’ room approach to leaders and teams, helping them strengthen their CQ — Creative Intelligence and generate better ideas on demand. He’s also actively developing unscripted television with FOX and exploring the intersection of AI and human creativity, giving him a front-row seat to how the creative process is evolving.
With an MBA and decades spent turning blank pages into ideas that made it to air, Gil combines entertainment experience, business thinking and practical creative tools that teams can put to work immediately.
Gil lives in Los Angeles with his wife, two kids, and about 17 million other people.
